What an unforgettable day at Tufts Library in Weymouth for the Raining Robots book event! Nine-year-old author Jordan absolutely stole the show, proving that kids have some of the most creative minds out there. It wasn’t just about the book—it was about the energy, the connections, and the inspiration that filled the room. Jordan, you’re a rockstar!

A huge shoutout to Ms. Amy Periello and the amazing team at the Tufts Library Children’s Department. You created such a warm and welcoming space for this event. Tufts Library truly is a gem, fostering imagination and curiosity for young readers. And to the Weymouth community—your enthusiasm was everything! Thank you for coming out and supporting this special event.
What made this event stand out was Jordan’s incredible connection with the kids. As a fellow 9-year-old, he just gets it. He knows what kids want to read, and he’s able to bring that vision to life. Watching the other children hang on to his every word, asking questions, and lighting up with excitement was nothing short of magical. It’s not every day you see one kid inspiring so many others. Jordan didn’t just talk about his book—he ignited a spark in every child there.

And of course, we can’t forget the inspiration behind Raining Robots: Spot, the robotic dog at Boston’s Museum of Science. Jordan’s excitement about Spot was contagious—by the end of the event, every kid wanted to visit the museum to see Spot in action. It’s like Jordan became an unofficial ambassador for the Museum of Science! Who knew a visit there could lead to a published book that’s now inspiring other young minds?
Here’s what struck me most: the importance of letting kids think outside the box. At their age, there should be no boundaries to their imagination. Jordan saw a robot dog and turned that into an entire world of adventure. That’s what happens when children are encouraged to dream big—there’s no limit to what they can create. And events like this show them that their ideas matter.
